Falling Into Light

“Look,” I said, pointing to the sky — “night is falling.”
“Night is falling?  Where does night fall?” My nieces’s seven year old eyes looked at me puzzling.
“Every night he falls helplessly and hopelessly into light– somewhere over there,” I said pointing East, “light is rising to meet him.”

    1. Thank you Leonard– I struggled with the colors of this image for some unknown reason and then one day, I threw in the towel and decided to post it– unhappy with it as I was… but now, something in the light seems to have changed– and I think it quite nice. ❤

      1. Well there’s a quote I’ll paraphrase by an artist whose name I do not recall but it goes: a work of art is never completed, just abandoned. But that does not take away from it being a work of art, which yours is.

    1. Awww– you beat my comment– I was going over to leave my link on Ferris Wheel… this is the one you inspired me to take a second look at– so thanks! — somehow the light looked a little different the second time around. ❤

  1. Thank you very much ~ yes she is pure magic and sunshine!! …she once asked me, when she was 3, how they squeezed big rainbow into the small rainbow shaped marshmellows in her cereal… so cute! 🙂

    1. Awwww. Irresistible, right? I love children logic, it opens so many possibilities. My youngest daughter, when 4 was going to the zoo, and asked us: “what is more serious, a lion or an elephant?” She meant dangerous, like a “serious” threat. Bon week-end mon amie

  2. It is words and thoughts such as these you pass onto your niece that makes you special. Great photo to match the scene you’ve set – a perfect way to end the day. Wish you a great weekend.
