Thank you Laura 🙂 Believe it or not I took this inside a small “changing hut” at the beach… and those colors just jumped right up and licked my face! Love them 🙂 !!

You’ve posted the eternal question out here in NM “Red or Green?” BTW I think you would like several of my posts this past week starting with “Alone”. The post for tomorrow (it won’t post until Nov 1st) is really interesting.

If you ever visit NM and order New Mexican food, you will be asked “Red or Green?” for the type of chile you want on your order.

“Embrace Light”. I like that. Those colors are beautiful and quite vivid! A changing hut at the beach? I miss the sea, it is about 2 1/2 hrs from where I am in the fothills.

I love this quote as well 🙂 I would miss the ocean terribly if I lived very far from it — Red, green and light … always a winning combination 😀 Thank you Lavinia ~

🙂 Thank you! …as for face-licking colors– you know how some shameless some shades can be ~ no sense of propriety whatsoever (especially RED!) … and the thing is– I like those best!

Oh my gosh, red or green chile? Green is the obvious choice unless it’s carne adovada, ☺ but as to the photo, the subject of the post, this is quite wonderful, such lovely, strong, contrasy colors

I love this piece. Perfect complimentary colours balanced in a wonderfully abstract way with the handle and lock providing a focal point that just makes the piece. Brilliant 🙂

Thank you Andrew! I love these colors together – the minimal vibe making the handle/lock seem like an anchor for the image. Thanks again so much!! 😀

Couleur indeed. 🙂 i’m so glad I’ve found. I missed your compositions.
I’m also partial to doors (as you may have seen)
Now this particular shot could have been called “the red-eye”.
😉
Have a lovely week.

This shot is made for this quote (or is it, this quote is made for this shot…?!?). “Embrace light. Admire it. Love it. But above all, know light, know it for all you are worth.” Do that and you can create magic with a camera…while the colors are great, the lock & handle makes this composition. Cheers ~

Actually I think you’re the magician 🙂 …but I must confess that I do have a fascination with doors and handles – initially I wanted to do a play on that — but then I thought of me in a changing hut trying to balance my camera and my backpack while protecting my cheddar popcorn from hungry, crafty seagulls – in love with red and enveloped afternoons shifting light … and somehow this just worked better.

First there were flamingoes chasing you and now crafty seagulls 🙂 This shot really is balanced so well and now I know the real reason why ~
My sister also loves to shoot doors ~ and there is definitely an art to it (and you have it), as for me my good door shots just look like doors…my bad one like a shutter went off by mistake. Wish you a great Friday and coming weekend.

….I just realized…. I’m starting to notice a trend here…that’s sad hahahah— I am working on a post about the renegade gulls in question and HOPEFULLY it will come together OK — wildlife photography is not my specialty…
PS – I can’t imagine any of your photos looking like a shutter went off by mistake — unless of course you were shooting a five foot blonde on the run from a famished flock of flamingos 😀

With your talent behind the lens there is not doubt it will be great ~ and you start my weekend with a smile imagining a 5′ blonde running from flamingos 🙂
